ABATE OF WASHINGTON
Ambassador 2 NCOM Reports
|
NCOM Report: Rich Bright Dec 2005 This year I have been to several meetings many here in WA and some outside WA. I have been picking up the pieces and am stoked by some of what I see. Idaho is looking to enter a bill like our own Left turn bill. (Again let me say thanks to the Horns who took this bill to Oly 2004-5) Oregon seems to be getting past differences aside and starting to work together. California is focused on gang legislation and their (NOT) beloved helmet law. This is good for WA, because success in neighboring states help us. As I talk to other State Coordinators, I am amazed at what they are doing. We need to plug into what they are doing and turn up the heat here in WA. But it must be done with many hands all working on building the same house. Confederation of Clubs stuff- As you may know I also work with and attend COC meetings. I believe the clubs and ABATE are in tune and will remain so, as long as we continue to communicate and share our ideas & concerns. Recently ABATE has been discussing donating money to the COC for its legal defense fund. I think this is a worthy cause, but if it does not pass, then I think we need to make an effort to attend, support and help organize a fundraiser for the COC. This will show these fellow Bikers of whom many are ABATE members; we are in this Freedom Fight together. Things to pay attention too and be active in Fighting: 1. Federal gang legislation: HR-1279 http://johnshadegg.house.gov/rsc/LB%205-10-05-gangs.pdf 2. Groups like Noiseoff.org : This stuff scares me- goto the site and see. http://www.noiseoff.org/media/flyer.motorcycle.pdf 3. HIPPA stuff- Insurance companies not covering us: 4. EPA, this fight is not over, and the MRF has done a great job spear
heading this, with help form around the US: If you plan on watching Jesse
or Orange county Choppers or maybe you plan on buying a custom bike, or
build your own custom dream? Goto the link and see what is in our future.
By the way, some of this has been law since 1977- OOPS! 5. MRO groups working against the common good of Motorcycling, but
being acknowledge as our representatives. |

Rich and PigPen, at the Nashville NCOM meeting
|
Many ABATE members may not know that I have been missing some of
my duties as NCOM and Coordinator and had it not been for the help of the
E-Com Members, I would be really flat on my A%*S. Therefore, I wish to
inform the membership, that Chris Dulas has accepted the position as NCOM
Ambassador and was given the full endorsement of the BOD at the October
meeting. I am a little sadden to give up the position, because I felt
there was a lot that still needed to get done, but with my duties as State
Coordinator, some things where falling through the cracks. Please give
Chris the same support you all have given me... Thanks Anyway- Hang Tough, but hang together---- Rich Rich Bright ABATE of WA- State Coordinator
