TO: ALL my ABATE Brothers and Sisters,

Thanks to all who called and offered help and support last night and today.
Julie and I are back at the house now (just got back).

She is in some serious pain still and we won't know if she will have any permanent
damage to her hand until the Orthopedic Surgeon see's her and evaluates
it all. Basically it looks like she ripped the skin half way up her
forearm back to the wrist when she hit the concrete center median on HWY
  16. The skin was mostly there but pulled forward to her wrist as she
hit. There is an area where the damage was severe enough that if it
doesn't re-attach to her, they will have to cut it off and GRAPH some
skin to fix it. Doctor estimated 3-4 months before she is fully healed
again. The Orthopedic Surgeon (who has done SEVERAL M/C operations
before) told me he was AMAZED she didn't break 1 bone in her body..
Especially her wrist given the shape it was in when she came into
Emergency. For lack of anyway to describe how it looked. If you've ever
seen those DISCOVERY channels shows about SHARK ATTACKS on humans. It
looked pretty much like a shark had taken a BITE out of her forearm.

When they got her up to her room, the first words out of her mouth to me
was "Well.. When you get thrown off a horse, the first thing you do is
GET RIGHT BACK ON IT or you never will...".

She actually rode another 500 yards past where she hit the barrier with
her left hand hanging down and then got to a grassy knoll on the right
hand side and flopped down there. She is a pretty tough lady.. And the
feeling of almost not being with her again hit me pretty hard last
night. She is my life, my love and I never want to be without her.. I
thank GOD that he was looking out for her.

Thanks everyone for wishes, prayers and support. Everyone at the scene
was assume people. The State Patrol guy was so supportive.. I shook his
hand, but I almost hugged him (you know in the manly way). But I thought
that might be crossing the line a little.. LOL

Right now she needs rest and time..
So I'll keep everyone up to date on developments.

RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!! It is the start of the season and more accidents
happen this time of the year because so many people have been off there
bikes for the winter and are re-learning everything.

BTW - We're scheduling a FULL TRAINING COURSE first thing.
Not sure the condition of the bike.

Cell Phone:  253-686-8866

 Update 09/05/08

I just talked to Glenn and Mary Miller and the memorial for Barry will be at the Methodist church
in Sumner at 3:00 PM on Tuesday 9/9/08. The address is 901 Wood, Ave. Sumner, WA

They have requested as many bikes as possible be there because Barry loved to ride.
Glenn told me that it was a freak accident. Barry was turning down by the Old Cannery in Sumner
and he apparently caught his running board on the lane divider bumps and he was thrown over
his handle bars and broke his neck. He apparently died instantly.

Mary and Glenn have asked that a donation be made in Barry's name instead of flowers
to the Nicholas and Barry Miller Memorial Fund at US Bank.

I asked them to come to the Swap Meet on Sunday and they will be there. They need big hugs
from the "ABATE family" so everyone bring a full flask so we can make a toast and show our
support for our family members. Please spread the work.

Hello Olympia Chapter

Rick Courtney "Two Tone"

http://forums.delphiforums.com/doa51/messages?msg=804.1

Olympia Abate Chapter Member Rick Courtney Went down on his bike Sunday the 4th On Old Hwy 99.
He left the road and hit a tree.  He was air lifted to Harborview Hospital and was in the ICU.  He has been
a Olympia member since 2006 and has been to many of our events.  He is 46 and is married to Susan
and they live with their children. Rick has many injuries but, so far he is beating this situation.  However
they are keeping him in a drugged state so he can heal and has had several surgeries to fix broken
bones, lacerated liver and spleen, broken pelvis and more but for right now there is nothing we can do but,
wait to see how he does. Going up there to see him is ok and there are no limits but, remember that he is
asleep to heal and there is nothing you can do.  He is in surgery a lot and not very good company right
now. The family is doing great with everything. However, Susan says she is getting called by so many
family and friends that it is hard for her to do stuff.  So Stick has a forum on the link below that she is
updating to help with the phone traffic.  She has sprint and is out of minutes to talk to non sprint numbers.
So if you could check the DOA site and read the blogs that would really help.  Susan is just trying to focus
on being his voice for his care and she knows she has so many friends out there and will call if she needs
anything.  Thank you all so much from her.  Yes he is really banged up but he is doing good.  It will be
awhile to heal and get better and find out the extent of his injury's but Susan and the doctors are feeling
really positive.   We may have some fundraisers coming up so keep watch for them.

 Update May 7th. 2008

Hey everyone,  Here is a update on Rick Courtney.  I went up last night to see Susan and right now there
is nothing we can do but, wait to see how he does. Going up there to see him is ok and there are no limits
but, remember that he is asleep to heal and there is nothing you can do.  It is hard for Susan because she
is getting called by so many family and friends that it is hard for her to do stuff. So Stick has a forum on the
link below that she is updating to help with the phone traffic.  She has sprint and is out of minutes to talk to
non sprint numbers.  So if you could check the DOA site and read the blogs that would really help. He has
surgery today that will take all day and then recovery.  So no big answers until tomorrow.  Susan is just
trying to focus on being his voice for his care and she knows she has so many friends out there and will
call if she needs anything. Thank you all from her. Yes he is really banged up but he is doing good.
It will be awhile to heal and get better and find out the extent of his injury's
but Susan and the doctors are feeling really positive.

Thanks Darcy and see you at the meeting tomorrow.

Subject: sad news

I hate to be the bearer of bad news;

I have just been informed that Rick "Two Tone" Courtney has succumbed to the injuries sustained related his motorcycle accident on May 4th. He gave it a good fight for the past 12 days but the injuries were just too severe.

He left behind a wonderful wife and two children, many other family and friends.
Please pray for peace for all his loved ones.

I will let you know when there is info on the funeral.

 Update: 05/21/08

Rick Courtney's Memorial Service will be this Friday the 23rd 2008
At: 11:30am At the:
 Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery
A celebration of life party will follow at the VFW in Olympia, WA

The cemetery will stage us prior to the service so you need to check with the staff
at the gate and they will direct you (in case you don't see all the bikes) also keep in mind
it is a Friday just before a three day weekend that means heavier traffic.

I want to tell everyone who plans to attend "Thank You".

For those of you that don't know where these are located I have added links to maps.

The VFW is giving us the use of the hall at no charge and has it has a bar
that they will be staffing for us. Kori is trying to get the food part done and has volunteered
to set up the hall but is asking for any help with the purchase and transport of the food.
We are wanting to plan a memorial ride down Hwy 7 to Morton to scatter some of Rick's ashes
as this was his favorite ride, so if anyone has input or suggestions
of places to stop for food and drink that would be great!

ABATE of WASHINGTON

State WS Deputy:  Dutch Phillips ( Dragoni )

At 8:30am 02/25/08 Monday morning Dutch Phillips was traveling west bound
0n Hwy 410 From
Buckley, WA when his Chevy Astro Van was Rear Ended
By a:  TE WALRATH  Service Truck as he Started to make a right turn on to
233 Ave east to go to his Residence. As you can see by the pictures below.
The TE WALRATH  Service Truck Caved in the back right section of the Astro Van.
The impact was so strong & fast it caused the Astro Van to spin around to the left hit another
car and also caused the drivers seat back rest, that Dutch was sitting in to brake off.
Dutch, fell back hit his head on the floor and was knocked unconscious for about 20 minutes.

The Chevy Astro Van then continued down 233 Ave E.
without any driver until it rested in the ditch about 150 yards away from Hwy 410.

Dutch, said he remembered after giving a turn signal he looked into the RV Mirror and
he could see all the speeding traffic approaching him in a 45 MPH Zone as he turned.

Dutch, said that was the last thing he could remember until a fireman rescued him.

Dutch, was then rushed to Saint. Joseph Trauma, Center Hospital in Tacoma, WA
where he was treated and admitted to the hospital over night.

Dutch was released the next day with Head, Neck, Back, Hip, & Leg injures.

Dutch is now at his home in Buckley, WA  recovering from the accident
Dutch, says he still has no memory of The
TE WALRATH  Service Truck
that caved in the back right section of his Chevy Astro Van.

There was a total of 4 vehicles involved in the accident that Monday morning.

If this intersection had a traffic light this Accident probably would not have happened!

                                        Michael L. Hays

On Wednesday, November 14,one of Tennessee’s most respected Freedom Fighters, Michael L. Hays (Twanger), died at his home in Nolensville of a heart attack. Mike was born in Pulaski, TN on June 17, 1955 to Harold Dean Hughes and Doris Ellen Baker Hughes Hays, who have both preceded him in death, as well as his respected step-father, Freeman C. Hays, M.D.

An avid motorcyclist, he was the State Legislative Corporate Director for CMT/ABATE, the state-wide motorcyclists rights organization, as well as that organization’s lobbyist. He was also a member of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation in Washington, DC, and recently lobbied on their behalf in the US Congress. Mr. Hays was also the sole proprietor his agency, Midsouth Talent & Booking.  Prior to living in Nashville, Mike had been a radio announcer in Orange, VA,  toured with his band, Mike Hays and the Haybailers, and prior to that had spent many years selling specialty audio equipment. Michael entered the US Navy in 1974, served  honorably, and at the time of his discharge 1978 was a member of the Admiral’s band as singer and saxophonist.

Mike is survived by his immediate family: one brother; Paul M Hays (Cindy), Washington, DC and three sisters; Barbara Thomas (Cam), Underwood, WA, Pamela Johnson (Shannon), Elizabethton, TN, and Patricia Ruth Emory (Jimmy), Richmond, VA. Also surviving are his daughter, Michelle Diana Williams (Indianapolis, IN), two granddaughters Savannah & Taylor, and grandson Bishop.   Mike will also be deeply missed by his life partner, Carol Simpson of Nolensville, her three children and six grandchildren, and additionally, by a true army of Brother & Sister Freedom Fighters and many of his friends in the music industry.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov 19,from 3pm to 5:45pm at Woodbine Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. The funeral service will be held at the same location beginning at 6pm. A buffet remembrance reception , hosted by brother Paul will be held at Mike and Carol’s home immediately following the service.

On Tuesday, Nov 20 a procession led by the Patriot Guard will take Mike’s remains from Hickory Chapel
at 9:00 a.m. to Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski where he will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. near to his father,
Mr. Hughes, and his paternal grandparents.

Mike Hays was a man of faith, and had been close to the Methodist Church throughout his lifetime.

Special memorials may be made to CMT/ABATE, Mike Hays Freedom Fighter Fund,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Staging time will be 1:30 PM (1330), ride briefing at 1:45 (1345) and establish the flag line at 2:00 PM (1400).  There is really no good place to stage and ride en masse to the church without encountering a lot of lights and traffic so for the sake of safety and expedience we will go ahead and meet at the church.

Getting to 8815 NE Glisan:  From I-205 southbound, take the Glisan St. exit.  Turn right at the stoplight.  The church is on the right about 6 blocks down.  From I-205 northbound, take the Glisan St. exit.  Turn left at the stoplight and the church will be on the right about 8 blocks down.  From I-84 eastbound, take the I-205 south exit.  Stay in the right lane as it will take you onto the Glisan exit.  Turn right to the church.  From I-84 westbound, take the I-205 south exit.  Stay in the right lane to the Glisan exit.  Turn right to the church.

Let's see what kind of turn out we can have for one of our own whom we all dearly loved and will miss.

To All:
It is with deep regret that I must inform you and your respective chapter's that our brother, Bandido Zog 1%er of the Seattle Chapter, died from his injuries late Thursday evening in a motorcycle accident.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Puget Sound Blood Center, c/o Development Office, 921 Terry, Seattle, WA 98104.

Randall Roy SLAPE
Randy Slape, 41, aka Bandido Zog died on Friday,
October 27, 2006 while riding his bike.
Born on August 9, 1965 to Gene and Leota Slape in Richland, WA, he served in the Marine Corps (1983-89). After receiving an AA degree in Computer Sciences in 1994, he worked in the software industry as a web designer and software developer. He loved the outdoors, being a father to his 14-year old son, Grant, playing games, and riding his Harley, especially as a member of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club. As one Bandido Brother said, "Bandido Zog 1%er Son, Father, and Brother will be missed by his Red and Gold family. His journey with us was as an Hermano and a Destralo Originale. He finally achieved his goal to be a Bandido Patch holder this year. He left this world doing what he loved most. That was sharing an evening with his brothers and riding his motorcycle. Zog was a fine man. He was a man of principle and walked through the world with his head held high. He lived his life the way he believed life should be lived with Honor, Respect and Dignity. He was always there for his Brothers. I will personally miss his big goofy smile and hearty laugh. The man always showed the world his zest for life." Russ Tom

Russ Tom, perished in a helicopter crash on
October 8th, 2006 while piloting his small helicopter over Lake Tapps.

Russ Tom, the son of Carmen Tom, is best known for taking over his fathers motorcycle business,
Downtown Harley-Davidson in Seattle Washington in the late 1990’s.
The dealership was later moved to Tukwila and eventually purchased by Bob Lanphere Jr. in 2005.

ABATE of WA & all the other Motorcycle rights organizations will surely miss Russ Tom.
Russ was always Generious in his support for the Motorcycle community.

It is with a deep sadness that we acknowledge the loss of a Northwest friend and icon Russ Tom.
Russ, who was well known for his custom motorcycles and his love of all motorsports,
was a driving force in the world of motorcycling.
Whether it was a Harley or a Honda, Russ had a passion for all things motorcycle.
His innovative designs and signature ideas were instantly recognizable in his custom creations
that helped to make DHD and Downtown Harley-Davidson a Northwest brand name and leader in the industry.

Russ had a strong interest in helping others to succeed
which was evident in those that worked with him, as well as in the charitable rides
that he helped put together for Boyer's Children's Clinic and others.
Russ will be missed, though our love for him will continue.

Joann Kaye

It is a mixed blessing that our sister, Joann Kaye (North Olympic Chapter), went home to the Lord this morning 9/6/2006.

I know she had made her peace with God and she is free of the pain and suffering of the cancer ravaging her earthly body.

I was blessed to have seen her on Monday when all the CVI brothers and sisters gathered for her bon voyage potluck. I am blessed to have known her and called her friend. She will be missed.

Ride with God Joann.

Another Rider has went down-  Gypsy ( John Middleton )

Gypsy was seriously injured in an accident with a car loader on Friday in Lakewood.. He has undergone 2 surgeries since then. The bone in his right leg was broken and went through to the outside. They pinned his leg and did surgery, then went back in and took the pins out and placed a plate in to stabilize his leg. He has a weak pulse in the leg. They took a skin graph from his left thigh to close the surgery on his right shin. They are doing all they can to try to save his leg. He is in St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma. The address there is 1717 South J St. The telephone number is 253 426-6758. Gypsy pretty much does not have any family. He does have a son, but so far I have not been able to contact him.  He will have to be near the hospital/doctor's upon his release. I am looking for someone who might be able to help him out in that manner during his recovery. He has to be very careful of infection. If he leaves the hospital with his leg, infection could cause him to have to have it removed. He is known by many many of you people and I am sure there is someone out there that could step up to the plate. My home is his secondary home, but I am 1 1/2 hours away from his medical needs, therefore my home is not an option at this time for him. In addition to a temporary home, he will need someone to help him set up doctor. appointments and Para transit rides to and from.

Lewis Country has graciously offered to handle getting his bike from impound.
Chris Parks Motorcycle shop will be storing his bike for the time being.
Gypsy is a life member of A.B.A.T.E. Lots of prayers are in order for our dear brother.

For more Information about Gypsy's Condition Contact: Pam King

You can reach her at 360 532-4010. If you get the machine her cell # is 360 580-9251

If you can help- Great! We are in the process of setting up an bank account so you could make donations to Gypsy, direct.

Gypsy Update: 10 Sep Hello Fellow ABATE members

Long time ABATE member "Gypsy" from Tacoma went down on his bike Sept 1st. He is doing ok but, still in the hospital. He is at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma in room 8D8.

He is basically needing a lot of stuff. He does not really have a permanent place to live and he will need some care and transportation after he is released. It is not for certain when he can be released and what he will need. I will be putting up some donation cans at a few places and hope to have one at the Swap meet in Monroe the 10th. If you want to send a donation in the mail you can send one to the Olympia Chapter Abate PO BOX 7129 Olympia, WA 98507-7129.

You can call me Darcy at 360-791-2412 or Rich Bright at 253-475-4944 if you have questions. You know it is always hard on a mans pride to say he needs help and I know that there are a lot of people who know Gypsy out there and would be willing to help. I will try and get a picture of him to post on the web site. At some point later there is talk about doing a poker run or something else to help.

Thank you

Hello Rich,
I happen to be working in a Retirement community both independent and assisted living/ we have what is called respite apartments, i will find out how much they are and maybe we can all come together and help. This will also enable me to keep an eye on him as well. John and I are still recovering from our accident both financially and mentally, I also have a fifth wheel out in my yard that could use some work but can posibly be moved to a park with help. we still would have the problem of him having to pay for a rented spot, i am not sure how he does survive nor his financial issue.
I would like to help but not sure how other than looking for a place for him.
If you have any ideas with my input please let me know.
I am not sure i remember him, but the name really sounds familiar.

ABATE OF WASHINGTON
Member SKCC

KAREN BOLIN

Hi all, I just got home from the hospital. Because of the overnight improvement
in Karen's numbers (kidney and blood) at 3:30pm they put her on
pre-chemo chemicals, or as we are going to look at it, launched the
landing craft. To continue in that light, at about 5:45 the Marines
landed on the beach and the first shots from the good guys were fired.
When her doctor returns on Monday, we should know what the future will
look like. When we do, I will let you know.
For now, thank you all for
your support.
John

KAREN BOLIN

Hi all,
The doctor was in with the pathology results from the University of
Washington. They are not good. Karen does not have a lymphoma. She
has cervical cancer.
She remains in the hospital where she has been since Tuesday. They
thought that they had the poor kidney function and anemia under control
until today. Last night, they internalized the stints and inserted a
porta-cath. All was looking good until she was unable to produce urine.
At about 3pm they inserted a catheter and she began producing so that
cleared up and they hung a bag of whole blood which cleared up the blood
problems before. She is in a lot of discomfort - both pain and pressure
- so she is fairly heavily drugged. All of you can imagine how Karen
feels about being of fogged mind.
If all goes well, sometime this weekend, they will start chemo-therapy.
As more news is available, I will pass it along.
John

KAREN BOLIN
Karen B- Update 10 September
I have something that will make you all a little more cheerful today.
Yesterday there was a marked improvement in Karen's urine output. From red it became almost normal. Today it is better yet. They think that they have the bleeding solved and her bowels have come back to life. I will go out on a limb and say that if things continue along these lines and her blood remains stable, they may let her come home on Monday. You guys have been hearing the bad for so long, I figured you might like a little of the good.

The officers and members of ABATE of Washington, wish to extend our deepest

It is with deep sadness that I must report that my dear friend Lucy Haisch lost her five year battle with cancer this past Saturday, July 8th. Lucy who was 56 years young passed peacefully in the early morning hours in her home.
She gave it her best effort to beat this devastating disease, five years of chemo therapy and all the side effects, many hospital stays and was always hopeful until near the end. She just kept on goin', never complained about her pain or discomfort.
She was an active member of ABATE N. Kitsap chapter as well as with many other activities in the community. Those who had the privilege of knowing Lucy will always remember her as an extremely caring and generous woman with a good heart, willing to help out whenever, or wherever she could!! While we are sad for our loss, we are relieved for Lucy, we pray that she is in a much better place free of all her pain, riding "Blue" her bike, which was her passion!

Bernd "Sig" Wachter

(May 4, 1960 - April 15, 2006)
45, born May 4th 1960 in Germany,
Passed away on Saturday April 15, 2006 in Tacoma, WA.
Sig is survived by son Jason and his wife Caroline, father Rick Young, sister Doris and her family in Europe, and Manuela Wachter ex-wife whom he was married to for 20 years.

Bernd

Throughout Sig’s life, he acquired a larger family. People were attracted to Sig’s big heart and fun loving personality. He surrounded himself with people that didn’t need to put on an act, people that would be themselves and speak their minds. This was one of the rules that he lived by and is why his family grew to be so large.

Sig had an outstanding work ethic and excelled at everything that he did. He had many passions in life his favorite being his “shovel head” Harley Davidson that he rode cross country and seemed to always be tuning or replacing parts on. His bike tool bag was always in use. Another one of his passions was family. Didn’t matter if it was his son, father, or “extended” family he was always there to lend a helping hand. He didn’t command respect, it was always given to him and in return he gave the same.

Sig would love for his friends and family not to mourn his death but to celebrate his life and live as if today could be your last. He will be missed by all and will always be in our hearts and souls. “Peace, live in it or rest in it.”

There will be a celebration of Sig’s life that will be held at Galloping Gerties bar and grill at 15417 Union Avenue SW Tillicum, WA. (253) 588-7131 on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00pm. Donations can be made at the service.

IN MEMORY OF BOB HARRIS
Bob Harris, the original “Rolling Bones”, died Thursday, February 26th, 2004 at 11:30 p.m. from Pancreatic cancer. I have a great deal of respect for Bob and will miss him very much.

Bob was the first man to introduce me to ABATE and fighting for our rights. He truly fueled my passion for riding; something Bob loved to do and never let anything stop him. He was a man of many words and great character. After almost every ride he would detail our adventures in his “Tales from the Bones”. Looking back on some of the situations we got ourselves into is inspiring and funny. Bob was determined to live life to the fullest, and he did. He always had a smile for everyone and was always there when you needed him.

About a year and a half ago, Bob moved to Phoenix, Arizona to get away from the cold North. But he never quit riding. He met and married a wonderful woman, Judy, and soon after was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. He fought hard and never gave in. His smile never faded.

I will miss Bob Harris, as will many others and will always remember him for the way he lived, his friendship, his passion for life and his passion for riding.

June 21, 2003 Dennis L. Powell ( Papa Smurf)

Member of East Pierce County Chapter of ABATE of Washington and a Bonney Lake resident, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the Bel Air Health Care Center at the age of 55 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. The funeral was held at the Sticklin Funeral Chapel, Centralia, Washington. Brown Mortuary, Chehalis, Washington, was in charge of arrangements.

****Thursday May 15th 2003****
CeCe Sorrells a member of ABATE of Washington East Pierce County Chapter suddenly passed away.
Funeral will be in Tacoma on Thursday at 1 o'clock at:
Mountain Veiw on the corner of Steilicoom & S. Tacoma Way.
Pack will be leaving Cloud 9 about 12:15.

CeCe passed away suddenly on Friday the 9th of May. She owned the Could 9 Tavern in Tacoma for 22 years. CeCe was a person who often helped others. She was quick to forgive those who had wronged her. She cared about ABATE and was always ready to offer ideas that would be of help to the organization. She even had my cell phone number written on the back of her membership card so that when she thought of an idea she could pass it along. As a neighbor of hers for the past 9 years one could always count on her to be in the yard working on something, whether it was the yard or busy cutting out figures from plywood to paint and give away. We have three different sized wooden cats that she made for us because she thought that we would enjoy them. You could go to CeCe and have a good talk with the knowledge that what you had to say would stay with her. The many people that knew her will miss her and things won't seem the same without her around.
I will post further information as it becomes available.
Bob Houk

Tragic Loss of MRF President Buck Kittredge

It is with great sadness and tremendous loss that the Motorcycle Riders Foundation's Board of Directors reports the untimely death of MRF President and friend Nathan "Buck" Kittredge. Buck's life was taken just before 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2003 in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident less than 10 miles from his home in Wisconsin. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown. Buck was 56 years old and leaves behind his beloved wife Carolyn and his two sons Jesse and Travis, as well as a worldwide family of motorcyclists' rights activists with whom he had served for many years.Tom Wyld, MRF Vice President of Government Relations, echoed the sentiments of the entire motorcyclists' rights community upon hearing the tragic news. "We are all numb, grief-stricken and in utter disbelief at this unfathomable loss, and our hearts are one with Carolyn and the rest of the Kittredge family. We will carry on, as Buck would have us do, guided by this wonderful man's spirit and his unflagging devotion to his family, to his cause, and to each and every one of us. "Visitation and a memorial service will be held for Buck on Thursday, April 24 at Jones Funeral Home, 107 Franklin Street, Oconto Falls, Wisconsin 54154, (920)848-2222. Visitation hours will be from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. There will be an open microphone remembrances period immediately following the memorial service during which Buck's friends and family will be given the opportunity to share their tributes and memories. In lieu of flowers, the MRF asks that you please forward contributions to the Buck Kittredge Memorial Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 225 E. Central Avenue, Oconto Falls, WI 54154. Since 1966, Buck had ridden his various motorcycles through 49 states from his home base in Wisconsin. He first became involved with motorcyclists' rights when he became a life member of the American Motorcyclist Association. He was heavily involved with ABATE of Wisconsin starting in 1985, served as Executive Director of ABATE of Wisconsin from 1994-2000, and was well known for his lobbying efforts for motorcyclists' rights and safety in Washington DC beginning in 1991. "Buck and I started in bikers' rights together almost eighteen years ago," said Ed Williams, the current Executive Director of ABATE of Wisconsin. "At that time, neither of us had any idea how far it would take us. There is no way I can express in words how much Buck will be missed. I promise you, my friend we will not let you down. We will finish all that you started and we will continue to fight for our right to ride free. "Buck began his service on the Motorcycle Riders Foundation Board of Directors as Supporting State Motorcyclists' Rights Organization Board Member in 1995 when Mark Buckner was MRF President. "The Motorcycle Riders Foundation, and all of biker's rights, has lost a great leader," said Buckner. "Buck was a good friend and a better man. I'll miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn and the Kittredge family ."Buck served two years as Vice President before taking over as MRF President at the Meeting of the Minds in Lansing, Michigan last September. MRF Vice President Chuc Coulter has stepped in as Interim President as the organization continues to advance the hard work and dedication of Buck and many others to preserve the rights and freedoms of street motorcyclists nationwide.

Hey Dutch, This is my mom, She died on March 27, 2002 from cancer. She didn't buy her 1200 Sporty until after she was in her 50's. She was just starting to really enjoy life and was getting into the bike scene when she was diagnosed with cancer. Six months later she was gone. Would you please put her on the list with the other Downed Riders.

Thanks' Bro,  "Leaky" EPCC ABATE OF WA
