Last weekend I was playing a casual game after work and everything seemed to be going perfectly. I had already collected enough points to finish with a decent result, but there was an option to risk it all for a much bigger reward. At first I planned to stop, but then I started thinking about how good it would feel if the gamble worked out. In the end I went for it and lost everything. What surprised me was that I wasn't even that upset. The chance of getting the bigger reward felt exciting enough to justify the risk in my head. While reading about it later, I came across https://fontsarena.com/blog/the-psychology-behind-double-or-nothing-decisions/ and it got me wondering whether most people think this way. Do you usually take the safe result or push for more?

Interesting discussion. I think this kind of thinking appears outside games too. I've seen people spend hours on a project because they were convinced that one more attempt would finally make everything work, even when it was probably better to move on. Sometimes people aren't really chasing the reward itself; they're chasing the feeling that success is just around the corner. That's probably why these "all or nothing" decisions keep showing up in so many different hobbies and activities.

Mystery Account

Yesterday I received a message from someone claiming we had met at a conference a few years ago. The name sounded familiar, but I could not place the person. I found an Instagram profile that might belong to them, yet there is not much visible at first glance. Can anyone recommend a good Instagram account viewer so I can check public information and figure out if it's really the same person?

Oh man, this happened to me last year - got a LinkedIn message from someone who said we'd grabbed coffee at a marketing event in Vienna. The name rang a bell but I couldn't picture the face at all. Felt awkward to just ask "who are you exactly?" lol What helped me was using instagram profile viewer  it lets you browse public Instagram content without needing to follow or log in. Just paste the profile link and you can scroll through posts, highlights, whatever's public. Figured out pretty quickly it was the right person once I saw a photo from that same conference. Saved me a weird conversation! Give it a shot, should clear things up fast.
