Freelancer ghosted mid-project
Three weeks into development our freelancer just stopped responding. Deposits gone, codebase half-finished, deadline approaching. Done taking chances on individuals now. Need proper software development services with a real team behind them. Anyone been in this situation and found someone trustworthy?

Went through almost the same thing two years ago, freelancer disappeared halfway through a project that had a hard deadline. It's genuinely one of the worst positions to be in because you're dealing with lost money, broken code and time pressure all at once. After that experience I stopped working with individuals for anything critical. Found cloud security consulting through a contact and the difference with a proper team is noticeable immediately. There's actual accountability, someone always picks up, and the work doesn't vanish when one person has a bad month. Hasn't let me down since.
