Restaurant apps: are pay-with-app features actually better than traditional loyalty programs?
I've noticed a lot of restaurants are pushing their own apps now, often with features where you can pay directly through the app to earn rewards or loyalty points. It seems like a lot of effort to download a new app for every single place I visit. I'm wondering if these "pay-with-app" features are actually more beneficial than just using a traditional loyalty card or even a simple punch card. Do any of you find them worthwhile, or are they just overcomplicating the dining experience?

That's a really good point about the sheer number of apps out there! I completely agree that it can be a bit much. However, I've found some apps really streamline the process and offer genuine benefits. For instance, there's one where you link your payment method and it automatically tracks your spending and gives you instant cash back at participating restaurants. You don't have to scan anything or remember a loyalty card, which is super convenient. The cash back accumulates, and you can then use it for future meals. It definitely feels more rewarding and less cumbersome than fiddling with multiple physical cards. You can learn more about it here.
